Daily Weather Brief for 3 June 2026: Sunny Central Indiana Today, Storm Chances Build This Weekend
NWS outlook calls for rain-free early-summer weather before shower and storm chances rise late Friday into Sunday.
INDIANAPOLIS | Central Indiana gets a comfortable early-June setup today, with sunny skies, warm afternoon temperatures and relatively low humidity before the next more active pattern arrives late in the week.
The current Indianapolis forecast shows plenty of sun with a high near 83°F and a low near 59°F. The National Weather Service Indianapolis discussion says rain-free early-summer weather should hold through Friday, with highs generally in the 80 to 85 degree range.
That does not mean the whole week is dry. The NWS forecast discussion points to the next chance for more numerous showers and a few storms from late Friday night into Sunday, followed by more typical early-summer conditions next week.
For outdoor plans today, the risk is low: take water, use sunscreen and expect a warm but manageable afternoon. For weekend plans, especially outdoor events, travel and youth sports, keep checking updates as rain chances and thunderstorm timing come into better focus.
The severe-weather alert row from earlier today should not be carried forward for Indianapolis. The active flood concern referenced in NWS products involved the White River at Hazleton in southwest Indiana, not a severe-weather alert for Indianapolis or Marion County.
CGN will keep this as a Daily Weather Brief, not a Severe Weather Alert, unless official National Weather Service or NOAA alert support develops for the Indianapolis area.
Correction, 3 June 2026: A previous version described the pattern too broadly as clear and sunny beyond today and did not include the late-Friday-to-Sunday shower and thunderstorm risk. This version also removes the draft Severe Weather Alert because official source support did not justify carrying it as an Indianapolis severe-weather alert.
