INDIANAPOLIS | Felix Rosenqvist’s Indianapolis 500 victory led the Sunday sports board after AP reported he passed David Malukas late and won by about 0.023 seconds, the closest finish in race history.

The result gave Rosenqvist his first Indianapolis 500 victory and Meyer Shank Racing another major Speedway moment. AP reported that Malukas finished second, Scott McLaughlin third and Pato O’Ward fourth, while Alex Palou finished seventh but extended his season lead.

Outside Indianapolis, the French Open opened in Paris under heat, with Reuters reporting that Alexander Zverev advanced in straight sets while Novak Djokovic began another bid for a record 25th Grand Slam title.

The sports night therefore runs from Speedway history to Roland Garros, with Indiana’s race-day crowd and global tennis sharing the evening board.
