Clear Path 465 Closures Add Weekend Pressure on Indy Drivers
Ramp closures around I-465 and I-69 are adding another layer of weekend traffic pressure for Indianapolis drivers.
INDIANAPOLIS | Indianapolis drivers heading into the weekend have another construction map to watch.
Clear Path 465 lists May 29 closures affecting the ramp from eastbound I-465 to northbound I-69, the ramp from eastbound I-465 to southbound Binford Boulevard, the ramp from eastbound I-465 to Allisonville Road and ramps from Keystone Avenue to eastbound I-465. The project also lists eastbound I-465 reduced to two lanes from just west of the White River to Fall Creek Road.
Those closures affect more than commuters. Weekend drivers headed to restaurants, youth sports, shopping, work shifts, airport connections or family plans may run into slowdowns if they do not check routes first.
Clear Path 465 is a long-term project meant to improve safety and traffic flow around one of the region’s major interchange systems. The construction benefit is future movement. The present cost is patience.
Drivers should expect changing signs, temporary traffic patterns and backups near ramp decision points. Anyone unfamiliar with the area should avoid last-second lane changes and give trucks and work crews extra room.
The weekend message is simple: check before you go, allow extra time and assume the ramp you used last week may not be the ramp available today.

What this means
Clear Path closures matter because the affected ramps sit in a high-volume corridor. Drivers can reduce frustration by checking official updates and giving themselves extra time before entering the work zone.
