HONG KONG | A gas explosion at the Liushenyu coal mine in Changzhi, Shanxi province, killed at least 82 people, AP reported, making it one of China’s deadliest mining disasters in years.

Local authorities said more than 120 people were hospitalized and two remained missing. Officials said the mine operator committed serious violations, while the State Council dispatched an investigative team.
